MEAGHAN PHELAN

As Senior Partnership Manager, Meaghan oversees fundraising and development initiatives for IIP. She is responsible for designing and executing strategies for foundation and government relations, as well as researching and identifying opportunities with multilateral institutions. She serves a project manager for many of IIP’s proposals and other projects, and authors and edits grants, fundraising communications, external reports, collateral material, and other targeted media. Meaghan has ten years’ experience in creating and implementing successful development strategies and communications products for NGOs in the energy, environment, humanities, and information technology sectors. Prior to IIP, she served as the Senior Development Officer for Institutional Relations at the Folger Shakespeare Library. Meaghan’s interest in nonprofit organizational development and effective program design was reinforced after she spearheaded the creation of a large-scale statewide plastics recycling program in Minnesota more than a decade ago. She holds a Masters of Public Policy degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in both English Literature and Classical Languages from Truman State University.
