WAN YANG

Wan Yang is IIP’s China Country Director and oversees IIP’s overall operations in China. He helps IIP develop program strategies, establish and manage key partnerships, and identify new business opportunities. Wan Yang has 16 years of professional experience in environment and energy project management, GHG management, capacity building, international development, policy research and nonprofit management. Prior to joining IIP, he worked as Country Representative at the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC). Between 1998 and 2004, Wan Yang was Program Officer for the Bureau of International Cooperation at the headquarters of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Since 2007, Wan Yang has been actively promoting sustainable manufacturing in China’s industrial sector. He holds a BA in English Literature from HeFei University of Technology and a Master for Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He is fluent in Chinese and English. He lives in Beijing with his family.
