Energy Auditor and Energy Manager Database
The Indian Energy Conservation (EC) Act mandates that a Designated Consumer (DC) is required to appoint or designate a Certified Energy Manager or a Certified Energy Auditor. The EC Act further directs a DC to get energy audit conducted from an Accredited Energy Auditor as per the BEE Regulations on Manners and Interval of Time for conduct of Energy Audit (2010). A qualified certified energy auditor can become an Accredited energy auditor after fulfilling the requirement as per Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India (Qualifications for Accredited Energy Auditors and Maintenance of their List) Regulations, 2010. Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is conducting National Certification Examination for Energy Managers (EM) and Energy Auditors (EA) since 2004. This National Certification Examination is assisting in strengthening the capacity of professionals providing services to the industry and buildings sector. The capacity building of energy managers and energy auditors through National Certification Examination route will have a long-term impact on the Indian economy by making it less energy intensive.
Qualified competent energy mangers and auditors can influence top management decision on implementation of energy efficiency projects. The expertise of this cadre is paramount to establishments of energy management system within designated consumer establishment, successful implementation of energy efficiency projects and efficient operation bringing in energy efficiency improvement in the Manufacturing sector and Buildings Sector.
