Robert P. Taylor

Robert P. Taylor is an independent advisor on energy development, focusing especially on energy efficiency. He worked at the World Bank during 1982-2009, becoming the Energy Sector Leader for East Asia and the Pacific during the final years of his career there. He has worked on energy projects and strategic studies in many Asian countries, but also in Latin American and Central Europe. He played a leading role in development of energy efficiency programs and lending at the World Bank during 1994-2008.

He has worked extensively on energy supply and demand analysis, rural energy development, electric power development, improved methods of coal use, urban heating, renewable energy and greenhouse gas emissions abatement policies, but especially on energy efficiency programs and projects. He developed the World Bank's energy efficiency program and project portfolio during 1993-2006.
