To complement the database, IIP has developed three research papers:

Organizations, Programs and Resources for Energy Efficiency and Resource Productivity: Cement

October 2012

The cement industry accounts for approximately 5% of current global anthropogenic CO2 emissions (WBCSD/IEA, 2009a). Global cement production and demand is increasing, with annual cement production expected to increase from around 2,540 million tonne (Mt) in 2006 to between 3,680 Mt (low estimate) and 4,380 Mt (high estimate) in 2050.

Organizations, Programs and Resources for Energy Efficiency and Resource Productivity: Iron and Steel

October 2012

As part of its mission, the Institute for Industrial Productivity (IIP) endeavours to help industry develop and implement practices that will dramatically reduce greenhouse emissions and improve energy efficiency in the industrial sector. IIP’s Industrial Efficiency Technology Database (IETD), which is publicly available and offered free of charge, delivers rich and relevant information about the latest and best available technologies, tools and management systems to facilitate the accelerated and full commercial deployment of energy efficient and low-carbon technologies and practices in industry.

Best Practices in Energy Efficient Technologies: Motor Systems

August 2011

This report has been developed to help industry leaders and end-users research and identify best practices that contribute to dramatic greenhouse emissions reduction and improved economic efficiency in the industrial sector. This report contains a comprehensive collection of international resources on Motor Systems and is based on a database of energy efficiency measures in this area.
