Optimal Charge Calculation in EAF
For selection of scrap types for crude steel production in EAF, it is necessary to know the metallic yield, chemical composition and the specific energy consumption of each individual scrap type. A statistical method developed helps determine these parameters from the analysis of a EAF steel sample and the total energy consumption of the melt, providing energy and cost savings.
